Hello, everyone!

That time I talked about this being a busy month? Yeah, understatement apparently, but I have made progress on some things. I haven’t gotten to do as much here on the blog as I’d hoped. I’m trying to find a schedule that works well for me, and that allows me to share content you all are interested in on a more regular basis, but I haven’t quite figured it out yet.

We still need to finish a few things before installing the new cabinets and sink (and this isn’t even the ‘busy’ part I mentioned), but now we need a few consecutive days above freezing (when we’re home and not busy with other things, lol). Asking too much in the middle of a Tennessee winter? We’ll see.

God has been teaching me and leading me this month. Once again, it’s been a humbling and eye-opening experience as He leads me day-by-day. I can’t claim everything is perfect, but I serve a perfect God. May my life be pleasing in His sight, as He teaches me and helps me to get my life in order. Again. Oops!

Last week’s posts:

Prayer Requests & Updates:

Last year was hard, and this year comes with it’s own challenges. While I don’t believe the year officially starts until God’s appointed time, just before Passover, we are starting a new cycle and once again finding ourselves in January. It’s more of an anniversary of sorts, but still means that twelve months have passed, and we are once again restarting the process.

For me, winter is a time of reflecting, a time of planning, a time to be thankful for what was, and looking forward to what God has in store. That’s what I’ve been doing lately, and I have found that I have so much to be thankful for, and so much to look forward to. But I’m also content to just be. To rest. To hope and dream, but be content where I am, too. Not wanting, not fretting, but simply trusting that God already knows. He knows what’s around the corner. He knows our needs, our hopes, our dreams, our goals, plans, and desires. He knows. But for now, may I be content to simply sit at His feet, gazing up at Him and trusting that He has already made a plan, that we need only to follow His lead.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
(Psalm 46:10)

“Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
(Luke 10:38-42)

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.”
(Psalms 122:6-9)

Looking Forward:

God is so good, and He’s been carrying me through these last few weeks. It’s been interesting, but good too. I never know what to expect, or what’s coming up from week-to-week, which is difficult, especially after being able to plan my weeks a little in advance the last few years, so… the exact opposite in many ways, but this too is for a reason, and I’m choosing to trust God in this new season as well.

I haven’t done anything with my crocheting ideas. I haven’t been able to sew any at all since the start of the month, honestly. I miss it and really want to start practicing more often again, but right now, I don’t know when that will happen. Maybe when we get the kitchen done? I really don’t know.

We have what we need for the kitchen reno now. We just need the weather to cooperate and to try to get it done. We’re hoping for the end of the week, but we’ll see what happens. It will be nice to have it done, although the floor will still need to be fixed… One project at a time, haha.
