This is something I’ve prayerfully considered for a while now, and I posted a few times about Bible verses on my other page. I enjoy this sort of post, but it’s much different when you are the one writing them. May God lead the way, and may His Words and Truth be a blessing to all who read these.
Today, I’m resharing a post from my IG about a hymn. I had created this image on Canva a few months ago, and wasn’t sure if I’d even use it, or when but I loved how it turned out, and the reminder of God’s faithfulness was one I needed at the time, and is one I think we all need a daily reminder of. Just how good He is! There are seasons when it’s abundantly clear, and others when we find ourselves doubting and questioning everything. Through it all, He remains faithful and true. How amazing is that?

You all know that I love reading Christian fiction, but
something I don’t talk about as often is my growing love for hymns and gospel songs!
I’ve always had a few that I really enjoyed, Amazing Grace, It Is Well With My Soul, and What A Friend We Have in Jesus a few that come to mind. But, I’ve never realized the deep history and conviction many of these singers and songwriters had. They often live difficult lives and this makes their faith and confidence in Christ shine all the brighter. Their stories parallel the themes and lessons we read about believers facing in the Bible, and is something I’ve been seeing more and more today in our ever rapidly changing world. There is such hope and peace in the deep faith and timeless reminders these songs share, and I just love that!
Much the same reason I love Christian Fiction, but their stories are even more powerful because they are true and they lived these harsh lessons and their powerful testimonies inspire us even more than a hundred years later.
In the Bible, the prophet Jeremiah says: “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” (Laminations 3:22-24)
How amazing is it, that while Israel was falling apart and under siege and enemy control, God’s people are still comforted with the promise of Who He is and through the promises of His Word? Thousands of years later, and Jeremiah’s inspired words are still just as true for us living today. God is infinitely faithful and true, and His Word is never wrong. I take great comfort in knowing that the same God Who created the universe is He Who was known by the people of the Bible, each one showing us His faithfulness and righteousness.
The good, being blessed and rewarded in the end, and the wicked being judged according to God’s wisdom and promise of justice against those who rebel against Him. This too is a very good thing! Because that proves His nature as a loving and wise leader, He knows when to bless and when to curse. He is infinitely faithful and is merciful to the upmost, but not without righteous judgement when needed.
All ‘love’ with no order isn’t really love at all, it’s lawlessness and eventually leads to anarchy and total chaos, which isn’t love or order, it’s wickedness.
AGod is so very loving that He chooses to punish the wicked, not because He doesn’t love, but because He does and He knows that to love means to set boundaries and to hold us accountable when we resist His perfect will. He made us, and He knows us best. And His will for us is always so much better than anything we can imagine on our own, but it’s not easy. There will be challenges, doubts, fears, setbacks, and frustrations.
The good news? We never have to go through them alone! God is with us, He has already seen the end, He knows what’s up ahead. And when it comes to His plan for His people, He has declared it good! Very good even! Great is Thy Faithfulness, O, LORD! Great is He indeed! His Word makes it clear that in the end, all things are as they were intended from the beginning, from the very start He has already seen the end of all things, and that includes those of us who believe and belong to Him, being in the eternal Kingdom with Him.
“And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.” (Revelation 22:6)
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:5)
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he t
hat sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.” (Revelation 19:11)
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)
“If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13)
“Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee.
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness,
Great is thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hast provided;
Great is thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me.
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine and ten thousand beside.”
