Ah! I adored Emilia and Fredrick in this one! They were easily one of my favorite couples so far, and I loved seeing their love grow along with their friendship. I will admit, after reading a few of the previous books in this series, the plot seemed a bit redundant, and especially after ‘A Lady’s Secret’ it was a bit of a dissapointment to see a very similar story line, albet with out all the fun and thrills of the first. I did like the story, and also liked seeing Anette befriend Emilia, but… the drama and hubbub in this one left a bit to be desired, as apart from the romance, the plot didn’t really offer the suspense and twists that the first two books in the series tantalized readers with.

So, I will say that I loved the romance, and the friendships this one offered, but I did feel it had more to offer, and just didn’t quite live up to that potential. I mean, with Fredrick’s secret work…there was loads of potential…And Emila’s school being in a similarly sketchy location….Hmm? Oh well. This story makes for a beautiful and heartfelt addition to the series, and the romance itself was well done and a pleasure to read. I loved seeing the themes of forgiveness, healing, and friendship that wove throughout, and the side characters even added to this as they encouraged and helped the story and main characters along from time to time with their own helpful suggestions and even an exhortation or two. Haha! This cast really is one of my favorites, and I loved getting to see them as side-characters in some books, and that many of them get to star in their own books at some point as well. Definitely an enjoyable read!
