About the Book:
She’s running from her life, will he be the one to catch her?
Grace Rogers had to get away from her controlling boyfriend. Without a plan or a job, she set out for somewhere—anywhere but there. When a handsome cowboy in a small town mistakes her for the new church secretary, it seems best just to go with it.
As the youngest, Colton Macklin works just as hard as any of his six brothers on the family ranch, so what does he have to do to gain their respect? When the pastor asks him to be the church handyman, he’s more than willing to help, especially since he was picked over all his older brothers.
At the church, Colton finds that he and Grace have a lot in common, but the more he opens up, the more he senses she’s hiding something. When her true identity is revealed, he needs to protect her from her past, but can he forgive her to start their own future?

My Review:
Match for the Cowboy by Hannah Jo Abbott
Pages: 163
Published: August 21, 2022
Series: Whisper Oaks Ranch
So, this was actually the one that sparked my curiosity about this series. I don’t remember who, but someone liked a review about it, or posted about it and recommended the series a while back, but this is the book that they were talking about. I can see why! This one was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed Grace and Colton’s story!
As always, Lydia really is my favorite character, but Grace and Colton both did an impressive job of trying to sway my favor! I adore her wise advice and motherly love, eager for more friends and family to join her table. She’s always the gracious host, and quickly and effortlessly makes everyone who walks through the door feel at home.
Grace was a fun character to read about, and I loved getting to see how it all turned out! What a crazy turn of events! Colton, sweet sweet Colton is the perfect fit, and I loved seeing them get to know each other and then seeing what would happen when the truth finally came out.
I would rather have more faith and actual depth to the stories, especially as the series gets later. I know this one has more than the previous books, in part because it’s set in the church and the preacher was present, but I would rather if it focused on that aspect of their story a bit more as well. It was a nice clean read, and does mention some faith elements, but was still a bit light on the Christian side. If you are just looking for a light read and clean romance, this one is a fun read, but doesn’t offer the ‘big God moments’ that I have come to love most about my favorite reads. Due to this, I’m giving this one a 3.5 rating.
