About the Book:
She dreams of leaving Maple Lake. His greatest desire has always been to come back. Can their hearts cross somewhere in the middle?
When her family moves away from Maple Lake, Juliet buries her loneliness under grad school studies and hospital shifts. Fun and games are the last thing on her mind when Cameron Dunne suddenly enters her life.
The handsome, bearded teacher—resembling a lumberjack, rather than a math nerd—is determined to be the friend Juliet needs, encouraging her to let loose despite the schedule that consumes her life. The two of them soon embark on a mission to experience their hometown through fresh eyes.
Together, they rediscover Maple Lake as if seeing it for the first time, embracing its beauty in the same way as the tourists who visit. From hiking through the mountains, to studying for Juliet’s nursing exams, their attraction is undeniable.
Will they surrender to love, or let old wounds dictate their future?

This is such a sweet story! I loved getting to know Cam and Juliet. From the opening scene I was confident that I was in for a good story, and this one was everything I’d hoped for and more! Their relationship was sweet, but also deals with the harder topics and situations, and I loved seeing them grow and learn in the story. The settings were beautiful and I loved Cam’s ‘travel plans’ idea! I’ve wanted to do something like that in my area, and just haven’t. I loved seeing someone else with that idea, and more so seeing it work out the way it does in this story. It’s such a fun concept, and I loved all the little details and traits that make the characters unique in this story. The travel plans play into that, sharing different likes/dislikes and some hobbies or responses that we might not have scene had they not been adventurous and trying new things.
This is a wonderful example of a story where all the little things and attention to details really work so well together and make the story all the more meaningful and special in the end. I loved reading their story, and am even more excited to know this is just the start! The fact that this is part of a sequel has me even more excited to see where the next book takes us!
I also really enjoyed Juliet’s friendship with Ali, and seeing Juliet and Cam with her brother. These are a part of the ‘details’ that make this story, and I loved how those relationships and friendships all worked together to help Juliet and Cam grow along the way. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention Mrs. Simons!
Mentions:
* One curse word (really, kinda two?)
* There are some content warnings included in the story itself, I’ll include that list below as well.
* A couple of ‘steamier’ kisses
* Some pop-cultures references, mentions of country music, James Bond, etc…
From the author’s note: “This book contains toxic parent relationships, mention of a runaway teen, family disownment, and an accident that occurs on page with mention of blood.”
